River Riders "other" specialty is tubing. River Riders is the original Harpers Ferry tubing company. There's nothing better on a hot summer day than floating down the river in a tube.
River Riders can provide you with a tube for tubing on your own. Life jackets, free shuttle transportation and parking are also provided. Two trip options are available: white water (small rapids) and flat water (no rapids). The white water trip passes next to the historical town of Harpers Ferry and has class I-III rapids. It lasts about 2.5 hours. The minimum age is 12 and 5 feet tall. We reserve the right to change the minimum age due to water conditions. The flat water trip is on the upper Shenandoah and has no rapids. It lasts about 1.5 hours, but you can float the section more than once if you'd like. This trip is also suitable for our younger guests (min age 4 years and 30 lbs). All trip times will vary with water levels. Shuttles depart from our shop daily at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30 for white water (small rapids) and 11:30, 1:30 and 3:30 for flat water (no rapids). The last shuttle back from the river is at 5:00 PM. Reservations are recommended. Plan to arrive at least 1/2 hour before departure time.
Let River Riders take you on the only licensed Class III tube trip in the area. This trip is for persons 12 years of age and older and 5 feet or taller. All tubers should be in reasonably good health and physically active. Anyone who exceeds their ideal weight range by more than 35 lbs. would find this trip unsuitable. We provide white water class life jackets, a specially designed white water tube, certified guide and round trip shuttle bus. The trip will take you through some slow water and then progress through Class I, II, and III whitewater. The trips last approximately two and one-half hours. No experience is required. Reservations are a must. The best trip anywhere with the most experienced tubing company. Departure times are 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM. Reservations necessary. (minimum of 10 people) Plan to arrive at least 1/2 hour before departure time.
